About Us
On a mission to Re-Wild and Reconnect
We are Kyle and Paige. We met and fell in love in Kindergarten class playing kissing tag on the play ground. We both truly felt like we had an incredible childhood that was simple, and largely outside! Kyle grew up on a small farm with chickens, cows, dogs, and many other small pets. Paige grew up with a pet goat and a pet cat and drove tractors to elementary school.
Our Story
When we got married, we were automatically thrown into the midst of college, working, and trying to squeeze in hunting or camping trips in where we could. After we had our second baby, and Kyle was finishing school, we were literally craving so badly a different pace of life. Que Alaska.
Paige came across some job listings for Dental Health professionals in remote areas of Alaska (Paige was a dental hygienist) and before she could even think twice, Kyle had planned out our next two years in Alaska for our family. In short, it became the greatest pivot that our life and our family could have taken.
We spent 90% of our time outdoors. While Paige went to work at the dental office, Kyle would tromp around the forest with the kids every day exploring new places, tapping trees for sap to make syrup and seeing way too many moose! More often than not our kids napped in hammocks next to the river while Kyle fished and our dog swam. We almost always had four day weekends and spent every one of them traveling around Alaska. Camping, fishing, dog sledding, bobsledding, ice skating, boat riding, chasing northern lights, and more. We fell in love with the "Land of the Midnight Sun".
It was there, in Alaska that we saw our first outdoor school, where they were teaching their kindergarteners how to dress for negative 30 degree weather so they could play and stay warm. When we came back home to Utah we had gained a completely new mindset around being outdoors in any weather and enjoying all the seasons! This led seamlessly into our next phase of life, where we dreamed of beginning an all outdoor program for kids and families.
We still look at each other every week outside in the forest, surrounded by laughing, playing children and say, "how is this our job?!" We are quite literally living our dream out there.
